After a highly successful initial pilot of the Jisc Student digital experience Tracker, we’re delighted to launch the open beta phase. Participating institutions will gather data about their learners’ digital experiences and expectations, and compare the results with others in their sector. The Tracker is now a well-developed and proven tool, and some minor changes after feedback from the pilot sites will we think make it even more useful. These will include more customisation, a slightly revised question set to focus on the most valued questions (with many optional extras), and a new question set specifically for online learners. The changes reflect our extensive evaluation with first users. We will also for the first time have baseline data against which to assess new findings, and the opportunity for first-stage pilot sites (if they elect to be involved again) to evaluate their progress.
We will be presenting findings from the first pilot and introducing the second (open beta) pilot during our workshop at Alt-C 2016. Come and find us on Wednesday 7 September, 4.30 in the Ensemble Room to learn more, and try the Tracker for yourself.
There is more information about the beta pilot on the application page. To register your interest in participating in the pilot, please read this page, then complete and submit the Tracker planning sheet. This covers a number of issues you need to consider before taking part.
The closing date for submissions of the planning form is 30th September and you will be informed of your participation in the pilot by 17th October. The planning sheets will be used to ensure a representative range of HE and FE institutions from across the UK. We anticipate working with considerably more pilot sites this time around.
We will work with institutions to prepare and deliver the survey between November 2016 and February 2017, in a window to suit your learners.
