A team has been appointed to undertake a review into online learners’ expectations and experiences of the digital environment. Given the relevance of the Scaling up online learning project, we expect the work of the project to help inform the review and we hope to continue to work with our Scaling up online learning working group, the members of the wider project mailing list and readers of this blog as part of this new phase of work.

Lou McGill

Lou McGill and Tim Gray, who worked on our Scaling up online learning guides and on the Online learning readiness tool (with Skillset Ltd.) are leading on this work and will be working alongside Helen Beetham. Helen has been involved with the Digital student project since it began in 2013 as well as providing expertise to the Jisc Learners’ experiences of e-Learning Programme, Jisc Developing Digital Literacies programme and Jisc Digital Capabilities Frameworks project.

The scope of the study is broad and will consider a wide range of online learners in HE, FE and the skills sector. The review will run from now until August 2016 and will build on the Digital Student work already done in the HE, FE and skills sectors.
